Careers Information Advice and Guidance

Inspira logo

On behalf of Cumbria County Council Inspira provides careers information advice and guidance for young people with an EHCP from year 9 upwards. We work closely with schools and colleges to support transition planning, the help we provide is bespoke and tailored to meet individual needs and we welcome the involvement of parents. An Inspira Adviser would meet with the young person in school in advance of their EHCP review, in meetings, our role is to advocate on behalf of the young person and family. Inspira works with a range of providers and agencies to ensure that we can support young people and their parents/carers to prepare for adulthood.

The support that we can offer includes:

  • career choice and planning
  • qualifications and how to choose college courses
  • college applications
  • university applications
  • apprenticeships
  • training courses
  • job applications
  • CVs
  • work experience support
  • skills for employment support
  • preparing for job interviews.

If you would like to find out more about the support and options available to you or your son/daughter or if you would like to speak to an adviser, please contact us either by filling in the relevant contact form on our website.
