We are a happy, thriving village school serving a wide rural community, situated in the picturesque rolling hills of southern Cumbria.  Our school is dynamic and forward-thinking whilst maintaining the unique advantages offered by a small successful village school.

We are very proud of our school.  Within its secure and friendly environment, we work hard to attain high standards of achievement and behaviour.  Each child is recognised as an individual and is valued and encouraged to develop to their full potential.  We have an enthusiastic, highly motivated staff committed to a caring, child-centred Christian ethos.  We offer skilled teaching an high academic standards, concentrating on the education of the whole child.  Our children go on to outstanding secondary schools in the area.

Choosing the right school for your child is a very important decision and in our prospectus we aim to provide you with an introduction to our school a Church of England Aided Primary School.  We have tried to set out the information as clearly as possible giving you an insight into life at school.

Local Offer

Parents have the opportunity to meet with teaching staff to discuss their child's progress and any concerns throughout the year.  Formal parent - teacher meetings are also held in the Autumn & Spring term.

Class teachers adapt and differentiate pupil's work in response to their observations and formative assessments.  If a child is showing significant difficulties, then a meeting will be arranged to discuss targets for an individual education plan.  Progress is reviewed termly and provision adapted accordingly.
